MEGI is a free service funded by Vocational Rehabilitation that takes place in your student’s classroom. These sessions are led by trained facilitators, who utilize a variety of resources to assist students in exploring employment dreams, goals, challenges and abilities.
MEGI interventionists are sometimes classroom educators, or partner with the classroom educator to customize each session to student needs, skills and ability level. This partnership supports students in starting to plan for steps after school is over.
Sessions include topics such as:
• Exploring dream jobs
• Identifying Values
• Discussing disability
• Identifying barriers
• Recognizing strengths
• How work fits into a typical day
• Past successes
During sessions, students are encouraged to lead discussions, express opinions and explore their own thoughts and feelings around employment.
You are invited to become a trained MEGI facilitator!
Training is free and only 4 days, one day each month. Professional Development Units (PDU) and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) credits are available.
