Job Development Orientation Trainings (JDOT) in Oregon

Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) has developed a series of trainings for Job Developers that are open to and free of charge for YTP Transition Specialists.

Trainings are constantly being developed and there (as of the writing of this on August 16, 2018) are five (5) scheduled trainings: Eugene, Woodburn, Bend, Roseburg, and Portland. Unfortunately the Eugene and Portland trainings have a waitlist currently. (Note: As of November 1, 2018, all of these JDOT trainings have waitlists)

Note that there is one JDOT training coming up December 18th and 19th in the Beaverton Area where registration is not through iLearn (below). If you are interested in attending this specific JDOT (as of November 1st, 2018 there were still seats available) conact Mer Stevens: mer@cas-dd.org

Interested YTP Transition Specialists will need to obtain an iLearn Account (to create an account click HERE) to register.

Once an account is created:

  1. Log into iLearn
  2. Use the search tool at the top of the page
  3. Type in JDOT
  4. Upcoming Trainings and Descriptions will load and you can register there.
  5. To see a listing of all 5 trainings click on "All Sections" at the bottom of the display and it will expand to show you the 5 upcoming trainings.
  6. Enroll in the training of your choice.

As an example description of one of the trainings happening in November:

"This is the Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Job Developer Orientation Training (JDOT) which satisfies the VR Job Placement Contract training requirement. The content of this course will focus on current Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) regulations and supported employment requirements as they pertain to VR. This course is intended to develop knowledge and skills for job developers in their collaboration with VR Counselors, community partners and participants. It will also provide information on best practices through the VR and job placement process in order to enhance the provision of quality services to our participants. Information presented will support the development of successful employer relationships, job placement techniques, successful job placements and job stabilization for all VR participants receiving job placement services."
